Emergency Appeal: Restoring Hope and Health in Chesongoch, Marakwet County.

The Volunteers Network of Kenya (VONEK) is responding to the recent mudslide disaster in Chesongoch, Marakwet County, which has left families displaced, livelihoods destroyed, and health facilities severely affected.

As part of our humanitarian response, we are organizing an emergency medical camp from 28th – 30th November 2025, aimedat bringing free medical care, counseling, and essential relief to survivors.

We are urgently appealing for medicine, medical personnel, counsellors, and medical supplies to make this outreach successful — and to support the re-establishment of the local dispensary that was destroyed by the disaster. You can also donate Food and Non Food Items

What We Aim to Do (28th–30th November)

Emergency Medical Camp

Provide:

  • Free general and specialized medical checkups
  • Treatment and medicine for over 1,000 affected
    residents
  • Counselling and trauma support for survivors
  • Health education on hygiene, nutrition, and post disaster wellness

Dispensary Restoration Support

VONEK seeks to source and deliver essential medicines and basic medical equipment to help the local Chesongoch Dispensary restart operations immediately after the medical camp

Medicines & Supplies Antibiotics, analgesics, antimalarials, antidiabetics, antihypertensives Vitamins, dewormers, antiseptics, oral rehydration salts, wound dressings Maternal health kits, family planning items, and first-aid supplies Reagents, testing kits, and basic clinical tools.

Volunteer

Human Resources Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, counsellors, clinical officers, and lab technicians willing to volunteer for 3 days (28th– 30th November)
